Colorado Dirt September 6, 2014
 Dear Fellow Grinders,

It is with angst and frustration that we announce that the Colorado Dirt has been postponed until September 6th 2014. The USFS denied the race permit (which was turned in back in December) due to logging operations to remove the beetle kill on about 45 miles of the course.  We are working with the USFS to secure the permit for 2014. We had already received permission from Bureau of Land Management, CDOT and CO State Patrol, Grand County, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, The Towns of Hot Suphur and Fraser, Headwaters Trail Alliance so we are confident in the 2014 race.
They have told us if we submit our application in September for next year that our race will approved and the logging companies will not be allowed to log on that date.
We will be sending out full refunds for this years race and will give those already registered a 50% discount into 2014 event.  Carla you still get bib #1.
Sorry to all of you who were looking forward to the race.  Races of this length take a lot of training and mental preperations and I am sorry to let you down....but 2014 we'll bring you a top notch event.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or comments. paul@digdeepsports.com

We are still building this site for the inaugural Colorado Dirt on August 17 up in Grand County Colorado.  Starting and finishing at Grand Park in Fraser this race will cover 130+ miles with over 11,000' of climbing over three major climbs.   95% of this course will be on dirt county roads. There will be 3 check points between 30-40 miles apart where you will receive your next map and your crew can replenish your supplies.  Categories will include
  • Solo
  • Duo Team (riders take turns riding legs)
  • Relay (4 person teams)
  • Team (teams of 6 riders and 5 must finish together)

Registration will open on January 1st and in it's first year will be limited to 300 riders/teams.

Stay tuned for more details
