Swim Course 1000m The 1000M swim course will take place in Peterson Lake just east of the Eldora Resort. The swim start will be a time trial start with swimmers starting every 5 seconds. The order of swimmers will be based upon their estimated swim time and mountain biking ability. The water temperature on race day will be between 58-62 degrees, and wetsuits will be REQUIRED. Hoodies are recommended. The swim will be a counter-clockwise loop, with the swim finish just north of the swim start. There will be watercraft, lifeguards and divers to insure your safety during the swim segment.
Run to Transition 650m Before the race you will place a pair of shoes in a designated area at the swim exit. You will then run 650 meters west on a trail to the Eldora Resort parking lot. The transition area is located on the east end of the parking lot next to the Eldora Nordic Center lodge.
Bike Course 21km The bike course is a two loop course that follows much of the Trail 11k course. As you head west out of transition and head up the service road you will be guided past Cheaters Corner, past the aid station and onto the Porcupine Loop. After 11k you will return to Cheaters Corner and embark upon the second lap. Upon finishing the second lap you will be directed back towards the transition area and right onto a straight descent to the bike finish. One loop map and profile of bike course via Garmin Connect
Run Course 6.7km The run course will run around the trails on the east side of the Eldora Nordic trail system. It is a somewhat hilly course that is on dirt roads, double track and single track. There will be three aid stations offering Gatorade, Eldorado Artesian Water and Gu. About 1/2 way through the run there is 1 mile out and back. The last 1.3 miles is along the very beautiful Lakes Loop Trail. The race will finish with you running west on Dixie Cup and back to the transition area. You will run around the transition area to the service road and to the finish line at the Indian Peaks Lodge.
